Meet Gniewomir from Poland 🇵🇱 At just nine years old, Gniewomir has been on a journey to improve his vision and overall coordination. Diagnosed with Optic Nerve Hypoplasia (ONH) as an …infant, he initially had only minimal light perception. His family first brought him to Verita Neuro in Thailand 🇹🇭 in 2022, and since then, they have returned multiple times after seeing significant improvements in his vision. Today, Gniewomir is attending regular school and can read with glasses, a remarkable step forward from where he started.
ONH can affect visual function, balance, and motor coordination, and in Gniewomir’s case, it has also led to nystagmus, a condition where the eyes make uncontrolled, repetitive movements, further impacting focus and depth perception. However, the primary focus of his treatment is not nystagmus recovery but the regeneration of his optic nerves, which are currently underdeveloped. His family’s hope is that he will be able to see at longer distances of 1-1.5 meters, improving his independence in daily life.
His vision affects more than just sight—it also impacts his balance and coordination. Before treatment, he struggled with depth perception, distinguishing similar colors, and performing tasks like catching and throwing a ball. His tailored therapy focuses on enhancing optic nerve function, allowing him to build confidence in movement and daily activities.
Encouragingly, by day four of occupational therapy, Gniewomir showed faster and more accurate color recognition, an exciting sign of progress. His journey continues, and we look forward to seeing further improvements.

Recognizing the signs early of a Stroke can save lives. Stroke and other cerebrovascular events can occur unexpectedly, but knowing the risk factors and symptoms can make all the difference …in seeking urgent medical care.
Dr. Beatriz, Medical Director at Verita Neuro in Mexico, explains how to identify key warning signs, including sudden headaches, blurred vision, dizziness, slurred speech, and movement disturbances. She also highlights the importance of immediate medical attention and the role of advanced treatments, including Stem Cell treatment, in supporting recovery.
Early intervention is critical. Stem Cell treatment offers anti-inflammatory, regenerative, and immune-regulatory properties, which may help patients restore lost function after a cerebrovascular event. By understanding the risks and acting fast, patients can improve their chances of regaining function and independence.

Patient progress update on Colin from South Africa 🇿🇦 who joined us in Thailand 🇹🇭 to undergo Epidural Stimulation and LamiSpine surgery. Colin, sustained a T7 complete spinal cord injury in …a motorbike accident in May 2019. Before treatment, Colin lived with no movement below his injury level but remained an avid adventurer, enjoying activities like fishing, hunting, and hand-cycling marathons. His primary goal was to regain voluntary movement, and his determination is now yielding results.
Since beginning treatment, Colin has made significant progress. With the stimulator, he can now move his legs, performing kicking and pushing motions. He is also able to push himself forward while stepping with a Pacer and has gained some knee control, although locking his knees remains a challenge.
A customized mapping program targeting his trunk has helped Colin sit up straighter, which he says will greatly benefit daily activities like driving, riding his ATV, and fishing. Additionally, he is experiencing the return of proprioception in his hips, allowing him to feel when lifting or moving them—an exciting step forward in his recovery journey.
