UAM Gets Down at the Verita Healthcare “Met Gala”

It was a banner year for Unique Access Medical in 2018, with loads of accomplishments to be proud of and numerous milestones reached. So by the time the holiday season rolled around, we were ready to celebrate.

For most people, December 15, 2018 was a typical Saturday evening in Bangkok, but for UAM’s hardworking staff it was time to get dressy and let loose on the red carpet… tuxedos and gowns and a night on the town.

The snazzy soiree in the Garden Lounge of the Marriott Sukhumvit Park came to life once the premium food and drinks started to flow, and it was all thanks to Verita Life, a leading provider of cutting-edge, integrative cancer treatments and UAM’s sister healthcare company.

The delicious buffet dinner, the singing, and the dancing were reminders of the good things in life, which is what each and every UAM employee has dedicated their careers to providing others.

The success of our groundbreaking Epidural Stimulation spine surgery and our compassionate patient care are why we’re able to come together for such a scrumptious year-end gala. And what a gala it was!

This year’s theme was basically “dress to the nines like it’s the Met Gala Red Carpet,” and according to Henning Kalwa, UAM’s Head of Patient Services, “It’s great to come together for a party, but this year truly felt like we were cheering our achievements of 2018, so we thought we should make it a bit special.”

Gifts were exchanged, prizes were given and one of the Bangkok party scene’s best bands kept things loose.

“The cliche about the holidays being a time to give to those who are less fortunate is true,” added Mr. Kalwa. “But in a way, as the only ones in the world providing Epidural Stimulation to patients commercially, we feel like we’re helping the less fortunate on a daily basis.”

“In other words, what we’re really celebrating is the fact that we’re helping paraplegics and quadriplegics improve their quality of life, every day, and we have no intention of stopping.”

The year 2018 was our most successful yet. We successfully treated over 40 patients in our state-of-the-art surgical center in Bangkok, launched a partnership with The Institute of Brain and Spine in New Delhi, and made serious inroads into the Chinese healthcare market; but we’re looking forward to even more success in 2019.

And an even more spectacular holiday party next December!
